Rice infection with RRSV and RGSV causes severe symptoms and is transmitted by the brown planthopper, which feeds on the base of the rice stem and spreads the virus. We analyzed cell heterogeneity at the base of the rice stem after virus infection by single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq). Overall design: We collected the stem base of healthy rice and rice infected by two viruses, and then intercepted the segmentation 1.5cm-2.5cm above node for protoplast dissociation, and scRNAseq was performed on the captured cells.
