Neuston sample collection data in the northern Gulf of Mexico, cruise PTS03, July 2016

Surface plankton samples were collected during CONCORDE cruise PTS03 (July 23rd-July 30th, 2016) using a Neuston (1 x 2 m frame) fitted with a 505-µm mesh net. The Neuston was fished for 10-minutes at the air-sea interface between the Chandeleur Islands and the Alabama/Florida border to assess the horizontal distribution of plankton under variable freshwater discharge and low dissolved oxygen conditions characteristic of the summer.
