Our initial RIXS investigation of strained NdNiO2 revealed a compelling strain-induced modification of magnetic excitations. However, unexpected, premature membrane cracking hampered a complete investigation. We have since overcome this technical challenge and now propose further RIXS measurements to complete NdNiO2 dataset and to focus on superconducting Nd0.8Sr0.2NiO2 membranes. The comprehensive exploration of strain effects will significantly enhance our understanding of nickelate electronic structure and the ability to manipulate its properties. Furthermore, this work will establish RIXS as a powerful tool for investigating strained quantum material membranes.
