Release v2.0 This release supports the results presented in: Valentine et al. 2026, Journal of Geophysical Research, "Simultaneous Multi-Point In-Situ Plasma Density Measurements of a Mid-Latitude Sporadic E Layer", DOI: TBD Updated density data and added HDF5 file Mission Overview Mission Name: SpEED DEMON NASA Mission Number: 46.025 Launched 1:16 AM UTC on August 24, 2022 Launch Site: NASA Wallops Flight Facility (37.85N, -75.47E) SpEED_DEMON_PIP_V2.mat and SpEED_DEMON_PIP_V2.h5 Positive Ion Probe (PIP) density data from the main payload and dropsonde subpayloads. DETAILS: All data separated into upleg (_up) and downleg (_dn) in the viscinity of the sporadic E layers. Ion densities (ni) given in m^-3. Time of flight is given in seconds since T0 = 08/24/2022 01:16:00.21 UTC. LAT/LON in degrees N/E respectively. Alt given in km. PIP is the main payload fixed-bias ion probe. ROB1-4 are the ejectable subpayloads. Release v1.0 Initial upload. See V2 for improved density solutions.
