BmN4 cells are cultured cells derived from Bombyx mori ovaries and were reported to be the only cultured cells that equip endogenous PIWI-interacting RNA (piRNA) pathways, and therefore have been widely used to study transposon silencing by piRNAs. Here, we report a chromosome-level genome assembly of BmN4 cells using Pacific Biosciences HiFi reads and ultra-long reads from Oxford Nanopore technology.
