RNA-seq wheat yellow spot infection zones

Pyrenophora tritici repentis (Ptr) is a necrotrophic fungal pathogen and causal agent of yellow spot, a significant disease in wheat. Plant transcriptome changes that happen in response to fungal pathogens in the asymptomatic region surrounding a lesion have not been studied. Also, the dynamics of recovery of the impacted asymptomatic region post-fungicide treatment is largely unknown. Here, we present RNA-seq data encompassing asymptomatic zones surrounding necrotrophic lesion sites obtained for Ptr sensitive and resistant wheat cultivars during infection by Ptr.
