Plausible 2050 offshore wind locations in the North Sea

This dataset contains a set of points representing plausible locations for offshore wind turbines to have been built in the North Sea by the years 2030, 2035, 2040, 2045 and 2050, based off the national ambitions announced up to August 2022. <br> Currently not included in this dataset are,<br> • Existing wind farms that have already been built<br> • Wind farms within currently designated areas for wind farm construction <br> We plan to include both of these categories in a later version. <br> The data are given both as shapefile and CSV. Both contain the same points.<br> Coordinates are UTM, zone 31N. <br> A full description of how these coordinates were arrived at is currently under development as a journal article, and once it is available this readme will be updated to link to it.
