In the study, we characterized 37 S. aureus isolates from the West African Dwarf (WAD) goat, which is among the earliest domesticated ruminant associated with rural dwellers and small-holder farmers in sub-Saharan Africa, by whole genome sequencing to determine their population structure, antibiotic resistance, and virulence genes.
