WP4 Socio-Economic Studies - MED-BERRY PRIMA Project: Developing new strategies to protect strawberry crop in Mediterranean countries

A multidimensional, structured questionnaire has been developed by the University of Milan, Department of Environmental Science and Policy, within the Med-Berry project in 2022. Its objective was to investigate consumers’ preferences for different strawberry varieties and production technologies in Mediterranean countries. The survey collects information on socio-demographic characteristics, purchasing habits, attitudes toward sustainability, genetically modified (GM) food, and climate change. It also includes a choice experiment designed to assess consumers’ trade-offs among price, origin, production methods, and innovative plant protection technologies aimed at reducing pesticide use. The data have been analysed exclusively in aggregated form for research purposes, as materialised in two published articles.
