Data for "Keeping up with the Kardashians: Evidence from a choice experiment with a nationally representative sample"

This dataset accompanies the article "Keeping up with the Kardashians: Evidence from a choice experiment with a nationally representative sample" (Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics, 106, 102074). It includes data from a discrete choice experiment conducted on a representative sample of Polish adults, examining preferences for absolute income, relative income position, and income trends over time. Two treatment groups were used to simulate different reference income frames. Estimation was performed in MATLAB using the DCE package (czaj.org) with mixed logit models in WTP space. The data support research on income satisfaction, well-being, and status effects in economic behavior.
