资源简介:
2D magnets are emerging as a class of novel materials displaying tunable magnetic properties, which can be tailored for instance via intercalation. Here, we aim to investigate the effect of intercalation in flakes of the antiferromagnetic layered material CrOCl. We are going to intercalate CrOCl flakes (< 10ML) with two different organic cations: Tetramethylammonium (TMA) and organometallic cobaltocenium (CoCp2). The electrochemical intercalation of TMA on CrOCl leads to a change of the valence state of some Cr atoms from +3 to +2 together with the incorporation of the guest organic cations in the van der Waals gap. The intercalation of CoCp2 occurs through an ion exchange process. The intercalation of CrOCl will have an impact in the magnetic properties of the pristine material due to the charge transfer involved on the process, the modification of the interlayer distance, the additional pressure induced in the material and the possible coupling between the different transition metals atoms of the guest and host.
We aim to characterize the magnetic properties of the pristine and intercalated flakes (<10ML) by XMCD, and clarify the role played by the Co atom of CoCp2.
