Purpose: compare the response of DRG neurons to indole-3-propionic acid treatment before and after sciatic nerve injury Results: we found that IPA induced transcription changes before and after injury inside the DRG tissue. In particular expression of immune system related genes Overall design: Method: RNAseq from sciatic mouse L4-L6 DRG tissue after the following treatment: a) 10 days of 20 mg/kg indole-3-propionic acid (IPA in PBS) or vehicle (PBS) daily gavage b) 10 days of 20 mg/kg/ IPA (in PBS) or vehicle (PBS) daily gavage followed by sciatic nerve crush injury and 3 additional days of IPA treatment. Pool of sciatic DRGs from 2 mice were used for each RNAseq sample.DRG were collected in RNase later reagent, and crushed with RNase free micropestle for RNA extraction. Biological triplicates of each condition were generated.
