Linguistic Sovereignty and Religion in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: From Memorization (B) to Understanding (F) An Existential Testimony in the A-B·F-N Model

This research addresses the central question of our era: How can linguistic diversity enrich the dialogue between science and religion in the context of artificial intelligence hegemony? It offers an answer through the A‑B·F‑N model, through the researcher's personal experience, and through reflection on the very nature of religious revelation itself. The model distinguishes between two levels: The Biological/Functional Level (B): The language of efficiency, survival, and the selfish gene. This is the level shared with animals and machines effective, yet morally blind. The animal does not ask about meaning, does not write, does not translate. Language at this level is merely a functional tool. • The Sovereign Level (F): An-Nafs al-Lawwāmah (the Self-Accusing Soul), the capacity for moral judgment, meaning-making, and existential questioning. This is the uniquely human level, which makes language a vessel for identity and a message to the other. Here, language is not merely a tool, but a preserver of identity and a bridge for dialogue. The research presents three interconnected claims: Religions were revealed in multiple languages to preserve identity, not to unify language. This linguistic diversity at the heart of divine revelation indicates that language is not an obstacle to the message, but rather a blessed vessel for identity. AI-mediated translation revives this principle. When I use artificial intelligence (Bₐ) to translate my ideas into English, I am not abandoning my identity. Rather, I am reproducing the very religious moment: I speak in my language, and I am understood by my will. Artificial intelligence today gathers languages without erasing them, just as divine revelation gathered tongues without obliterating identities. Linguistic diversity in the science-religion dialogue is an extension of this theological principle. Celebrating linguistic diversity today is a recovery of the spirit of revelation itself: no voice is higher than the voice of the other, but rather multiple voices meeting in meaning. The research then moves to practical applications in education. It argues that artificial intelligence has liberated us from the necessity of learning foreign languages for global communication in the traditional manner. We are no longer compelled to abandon our authentic voices (our mother tongue, our identity) to be heard in global dialogue. Therefore, education must shift from focusing on memorizing information (B) to cultivating consciousness (F). We no longer need to memorize vocabulary and grammar; rather, we need deep understanding, critical analysis, and moral judgment. The research concludes by proposing new assessments for the age of artificial intelligence assessments that measure understanding rather than memorization, creativity rather than repetition, and sovereign consciousness rather than functional processing.
