Human Adipocyte/Preadipocyte Gene Expression Assay

Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs), preadipocytes and adipocytes were analyzed for cell specific gene expression. We have confirmed FSTL1 as a reliable preadipocyte marker that is highly expressed in preadipocyte cells and lowly expressed in adipocytes. Similarly, we have identified Leptin as a reliable adipocyte marker since its expression greatly increases in adipocytes compared to preadipocytes. We will use these genes to test crude oil for obesogen potential at the molecular level.
