Indigenous activism in the restoration and protection of nature

This spreadsheet contains publicly available data about the New Zealand Jobs for Nature Fund. It also includes data about environmental legislation that mentions or makes provisions for Māori as well as data on protest movements led by Māori in Aotearoa. The jobs for nature fund data also includes a sheet specifically on Māori-led restoration and conservation projects. The jobs for nature data was sourced from https://mfenz.shinyapps.io/Jobs_For_Nature_Map/ and filtered to reveal Māori led and Māori supported restoration projects in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Data pertaining to environmental legislation was sourced from https://www.legislation.govt.nz/. Finally, data about Māori protest were searched first through google and then through grey literature such as news articles. A search through academic literature was also undertaken to contribute to the protest data set.
