资源简介:
This collection comprises images, GIS data and a report from a Level 2 Descriptive Historic Building Recording at Stanley Road, Bootle. The work was carried out by Dee Archaeological Services in April 2024 on the former Johnsons Building off Stanley Road. In the early 1930s the building under study was erected in an Art Deco style with its main facades off Mildmay Road and Stanley Road. The facades overlooking the site, to the north and west, were of less decorative styling. During World War 2 the structure suffered bomb damage. By the 1950s much of the standing building had been replaced. Further modifications were made in the 1980s, and between 1987 and the 1990s the Stanley Road frontage was truncated. The study structure is the last surviving element of the complex and contains the 1930s and 1950s elements. A series of four main phases were identified within the fabric, along with scarring and ghosting on the northern elevation where the building previously adjoined other structures.
