Effects of deoxynivalenol on sheep intestinal organoids

Sheep are natural hosts of globally important intestinal zoonotic pathogens, and intestinal infections are a major threat to animal health and productivity. Among other things, interactions between pathogens and intestinal epithelial cells play a key role in intestinal infections. However, the lack of physiologically relevant in vitro infection models has severely limited the study of such interactions. We constructed sheep intestinal organoids and further performed deoxynivalenol(DON) exposure to investigate the damaging effects of DON on sheep intestinal organoids.
