In September 2011, The Genome Institute at Washington University School of Medicine, in collaboration with Agencourt Bioscience Corporation and the Broad Institute, submitted an updated Felis catus assembly. The DNA source for this assembly, Felis_catus-6.2, is a female Abyssinian cat named Cinnamon. The assembly is a combination of WGS sequence and 454 sequencing, for a combined genome coverage of 14x. Details on the assembly process are described in the WGS project accession AANG00000000.
