This dataset consists of data from three experiments.
The first experiment demonstrates that anthropomorphic chatbots (vs. non-anthropomorphic chatbots) significantly enhance perceived status, service evaluation, and willingness to pay a price premium, reaching levels that are nearly comparable to those of human employees.
The second experiment shows that the positive effects of anthropomorphic chatbots on service evaluation and willingness to pay a price premium are realized through a sequential mediation mechanism involving social presence and perceived status.
The third experiment further confirms that this sequential mediation effect is moderated by vanity traits.
