This dataset is a dataframe containing 2075 French books in `txt` format. These books are selected from the Gutenberg project, excluding works by authors who have summaries in the french_books_summuries dataset to avoid information leakage. The dataframe includes four columns: text content, book title, authors name and birth and death dates, and an estimate of the number of words in the text. The README also provides an estimated number of texts at different word counts and corresponding year ranges.
