The exploratory dataset of isotopic composition of different water sources across Kazakhstan.

The presented dataset contains results of stable water isotope composition of water samples collected during 2017-2023 across Kazakhstan with one lake sample from Kyrgyzstan (Issyk-kul Lake). The dataset has the oxygen and hydrogen isotopic ratios (δ2H and δ18O) expressed in per mil (‰) after normalization of raw measurements with international accepted reference standards (i.e VSMOW2 and SLAP2) along with measurements error reported as one standard deviation. The dataset (n=399) consist of following water source types: precipitation (n=130) - event precipitation (n=108), monthly cumulative (n=22); surface water (n=175) – rivers (n=69), brooks (n=19), channels (n=7), lakes (n=78), reservoirs (n=2); groundwater (n=85) - shallow groundwater (n=76), artesian (free-flowing) groundwater (n=8), a spring (n=1); tap water (n=9. The Excel spreadsheet containing data has five tabs: 1) Precipitation events; 2) Precipitation monthly; 3) Surface water; 4) Groundwater; 5) Tap water. The tabs have the following columns: Sample no, Sample ID, Sample type, Sample subtype, Event type (for event precipitation), Sample description, Date, Location, Coordinate 1, (Lat N), Coordinate 2, (Lon E), Comment, Measurement method, δ18O, ‰, 1σ (standard deviation for oxygen), δ2H, ‰, 1σ (standard deviation for hydrogen).本数据集收录了2017年至2023年间在哈萨克斯坦全境采集的水样的稳定同位素组成结果，另包含一份采自吉尔吉斯斯坦伊塞克湖（Issyk-kul Lake）的湖泊水样。数据集包含氧、氢同位素比值（δ²H与δ¹⁸O），以千分比（‰）为单位；原始测量值已通过国际公认参考标准（即VSMOW2与SLAP2）完成归一化处理，并附带以一倍标准差表示的测量误差。本数据集共收录399组样本，涵盖以下四类水源类型： 1. 降水样本（n=130）：其中单次降水事件样本108组、月累积降水样本22组； 2. 地表水样本（n=175）：包括河流69组、溪流19组、渠道7组、湖泊78组、水库2组； 3. 地下水样本（n=85）：涵盖浅层地下水76组、自流（自由出流）地下水8组、泉眼1组； 4. 自来水样本（n=9）。承载该数据集的Excel电子表格共包含5个工作表：1) 单次降水事件；2) 月累积降水；3) 地表水；4) 地下水；5) 自来水。各工作表均包含以下列项：样本编号、样本ID、样本类型、样本亚型、事件类型（仅适用于单次降水事件样本）、样本描述、采集日期、采样地点、坐标1（北纬N）、坐标2（东经E）、备注、测量方法、δ¹⁸O（‰）、氧同位素一倍标准差（1σ）、δ²H（‰）、氢同位素一倍标准差（1σ）。
