Impact Assessment of the Cocoa Rehabilitation Project in Ghana Data

This research was undertaken to assess the possible linkage between the Cocoa Rehabilitation Project (CRP) introduced into the cocoa sector of Ghana from 1988 to 1993 and cocoa export performance by evaluating time series data from 1988 to 2018. The research used Johansen cointegration to measure the relationship between Ghana cocoa exports as the response variable and Ghana cocoa production, world cocoa export and production, world cocoa prices, gross domestic product growth rate of Ghana and real exchange rate between the Ghanaian Cedi and US Dollar. The study reports no significant relationship between the response and explanatory variables in the long run. Conclusion on the data set is that the explanatory variables explored in the research do not have any substantial influence on the response variable.本研究旨在评估1988年至1993年引入加纳可可产业的可可复兴计划（Cocoa Rehabilitation Project, CRP）与可可出口表现之间的潜在关联，通过分析1988至2018年的时间序列数据开展相关研究。本研究采用约翰森协整检验（Johansen cointegration），以加纳可可出口作为响应变量，测度其与加纳可可产量、全球可可出口与产量、全球可可价格、加纳国内生产总值增长率以及加纳塞地与美元的实际汇率之间的关联。研究表明，长期来看响应变量与各解释变量之间不存在显著关联。基于本数据集可得出结论：本研究中探讨的解释变量未对响应变量产生实质性影响。
