Water Main Breaks (2004-2019)

This is a list of all confirmed water main breaks since 2006. Water mains are located underground and bring water from a source - in Syracuse's case, Skaneateles Lake - to all of the homes and buildings in the city. When a water main breaks, buildings can lose access to water, and normally the fix requires opening up the road to replace a section of pipe. Sometimes water main breaks are reported, but the issue turns out to be something else. This dataset only shows those situations where a water main break was confirmed. This dataset was last updated on 02/24/2020.
