Lung microbiome modifications by steroids during respiratory syncytial virus infection

Corticosteroids such as fluticasone are commonly used to help prevent the symptoms of asthma. This study seeks to understand how the microbiome within the lung may be altered by treatment with corticosteroids prior to infection with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), a common pathogen that is a frequent cause of hospitalization for those with chronic asthma.
