VPRS 12190 Receipt and Issue of Bronze

This series records the Receipt and Issue of Bronze by the Melbourne Mint. The receipt of bars from the Melting House is recorded on the left hand side. The amount/quantity rejected is entered. Deliveries (Issue) of bronze are recorded on the right hand side. This is divided into Scissel (waste metal) and Coin to Bullion Office.Periodic reports of the amount of bronze in hand are recorded at the bottom of the page. This is divided into Pence and Halfpence and shows the various forms in which bronze is held (bars and fillets, blanks, scissel coin, coin).Summaries were made at the end of each financial year of the total Receipts and Issues of bronze for that year, and of the Bronze Balance as at 30 June.
