Enhancing food security amidst climate variability in Zambia: What role for neglected and underutilized crops in rural households

This dataset is derived from interviews with 165 smallholder farming households in Petauke Zambia. The respondents were selected from two villages. The research questions were What crops are perceived to be NUCs among smallholder farmers in the study area? What reasons do smallholder farmers advance for the neglect and underutilization of crops in the study area? To what extent has the production of NUCs improved food security amidst climate change as perceived by smallholder farmers in the study area?本数据集源自对赞比亚佩塔乌克（Petauke）地区165户小农家庭的访谈。受访者选自两个村落。本次研究的核心问题包括：一、研究区域内的小农群体认为哪些作物属于未被充分利用的作物（Neglected and Underutilized Crops，以下简称NUCs）？二、研究区域内的小农将哪些因素归结为作物被忽视及未充分利用的原因？三、在研究区域的小农看来，气候变化背景下，未被充分利用的作物种植在多大程度上改善了粮食安全？
