Donato Valli dedicated himself to the cult and promotion of Salento as if for a mission. From literary criticism to historiography, from collaboration with others to direct testimony, from the attendance of men to the care of the institutions entrusted to him, he was an intense expression of his territory, which he covered with aspirations and goals, giving himself the image of a pragmatic man and a dreamer at the same time, of a rigorous and respectful critic, of a robust interpreter of the most vigorous and strong-willed Salento.
