Escherichia coli MG1655 derivative energy-auxotroph G5663 [?lpd pGEN1340::fdsGBACD C.n.] was evolved in two independent turbidostats UOF1 and UOF2 to improve growth on acetate and pyruvate as carbon sources and formate as energy source. We performed Illumina whole genome sequencing of three evolved isolates of each lineage, UOF1 and UOF2.
