The International Crime Victims Surveys (ICVS) deals with crime and victims of crime: The survey focuses on how people experience crime, both the criminal act itself and what happens afterwards. The Norwegian data are part of an international research project. Emphasis has been put on standardisation of the questionnaire, to enhance comparability between countries.
The first round of the survey was in 1989, in 14 countries. Norway participated in 1989, but not in the later rounds in 1992, 1996 eller 2000. In 2004 Norway participated again, with other European countries (EU-members).
