VPRS 9614 Registration Journals for General Correspondence

It appears that registration numbers were allocated from this series for correspondence received and filed in VPRS 6008 General Correspondence Files, Annual Single Number Systems. This series was one of the components of the correspondence registration process. VPRS 6009 Classified Registration Cards for General Correspondence was the other component.For every letter received and filed in VPRS 6008 until October 1958, this series provided cross-reference to Classified Registration Cards for General Correspondence (VPRS 6009) which were maintained in alphabetical order according to a hierarchical scheme of the subject classification. The date was also recorded for some entries.
