资源简介:
This dataverse contains all materials related to the numerical model of cooling pluton and the comparison with Biella pluton (emplaced in the Austroalpine domain of the Western Alps) and its contact aureole. The numerical model accounts for a purely conductive cooling of the pluton under three different geothermal gradients 30, 40, and 50°C/km and using three different initial temperatures of the pluton (800, 900, and 1000°C). The temperatures resulting in the contact aureole have been compared with those obtained by mineral-based thermometry on 20 samples collected around Biella pluton aureole in order to estimated the original geothermal gradient that affected the country rock at the time of the Biella pluton intrusion.
This dataverse contains files reporting geological samples and relative distance from the pluton and depth, compositional range of contact metamorphic mineral chemistry in any sample, selected analyses of contact metamorphic minerals with oxides weight percent and stoichiometric formulas, and the results of mineral-based thermometry of the selected samples. It also contains all simulations performed with COMSOL multiphysics for each gradient and pluton temperature and the output temperatures extracted along a vertical cross-section at distance of 0.5 from the left boundary, along a horizontal cross-section at t depth of 6.25 km, along a horizontal cross-section at distance of 4 km, i.e. 0.25 km from the pluton margin, and at the same distance and depth of geological samples.
