B16-F10 melanoma cells overexpressing TIMP-2 (B16-F10/TIMP-2) were examined for their ability to form tumors and metastatic foci after subcutaneous or tail vein administration to C57BL/6 mice, respectively. The transcriptional signature of B16-F10/TIMP-2 cells was revealed using/by RNASEQ analysis. TIMP-2 overexpression influenced the expression of genes predominantly related to immune response, angiogenesis and apoptosis. We assume that TIMP-2 inhibits B16-F10 melanoma tumor growth and metastasis possibly through the modulation/up-regulation of the mRNA expression of immune response genes in melanoma cells.
