The project Social Networks, Mobility Biographies and Mobility Tools addresses a possible determinant to help us understand travel behaviour: this being the size and structure of social networks. Whereas over last few decades, the motives and determinants of individual travel behaviour have been analysed from different perspectives (generalised costs of travel, role patterns out of sociodemographics, household interactions, time budgets, life styles etc.) this approach deals with the question of the spatial representation of ego-centric social networks and effects on social-activity-travel behaviour may cause. For that reason the conducted data is containing information about corporeal travel as well as communication travel in the context of socio ego-centric networks in terms of maintaining social relations.
