Space activities: importance of space related activities for the future international position of the EU; importance of space activities with regard to the following issues: economic development in the EU, development of innovative terrestrial applications. 2. European Earth Observation: awareness of the European Earth Observation satellites; importance of the development of selected space applications for the EU: independent European Positioning System (GPS), space monitoring system to manage disasters and mitigate the effects of climate change, communication tools, space-based monitoring tools to improve citizen security. 3.
