Official notices in the Zurich Official Journal 1980 - 2001

The Official Gazette is the publication body for official communications of the public bodies of the Canton of Zurich. It was introduced in the course of the liberal cantonal constitution of 1831. During the first decades, all communications from various federal, cantonal, district or municipal authorities were mixed, in 1879 the so-called advertisement part was separated from the text part with the legal announcements. Intended as an information channel for citizens, the Official Journal had to be interpreted in all Zurich restaurants until it was moved to the Internet. It first appeared twice a week and from 1995 only once a week. In an ongoing project (start 2022) of the State Archives, the entire Zurich Official Journal is prepared for online publication in full text. From 2001 onwards, the vintages will be published chronologically backwards in tranches. This dataset includes all reports of the first publication series 1980-2001.
