Cereal Microbiome

The project focuses on the integrated analysis of the microbiota associated with the root system in different wheat accessions. Its primary objective is to understand how interactions between wheat and the soil microorganisms can influence growth, stress resistance, and protection against pathogens. Using advanced omics methodologies, the project examines the diversity and functionality of root-associated microbial communities, aiming to identify beneficial species and potential bioindicators. This research contributes to the development of innovative and sustainable agronomic strategies, targeting the selection of more resilient wheat varieties and the optimization of cultivation practices.
