资源简介:
Ottocaro WeissA native Triestine, Weiss moved to Zurich to pursue a doctoral degree, where he met JJ. Drafted later that year into the Austrian army, Weiss returned to Zurich in 1918 to complete his studies. A dispute over a debt owed to JJ led to a falling out shortly before JJ's move to Trieste in 1919. JJ suspected that Weiss was responsible for Edith McCormick's abrupt end to her financial support; he may also have felt jealousy toward Weiss regarding Nora. Weiss returned to Trieste until moving to the United States in the 1940s, where he was employed as an officer of a New York insurance company until shortly before his death. Weiss provided significant assistance to Richard Ellmann's research and was instrumental in Cornell University's acquisition of letters and manuscripts from Stanislaus Joyce's widow. William Brockman
