the National Sample Survey on Subjective Perceptions and Evaluation of Persons with Disabilities’ Protection and Development，2023

The National Sample Survey on Subjective Perceptions and Evaluation of Persons with Disabilities' Protection and Development was conducted between March and June 2023, under the unified leadership of the Chinese Disabled Persons' Federation(CDPF). Local Disabled Persons' federations across the country carried out specific surveys, and the investigators were mainly arranged by county (city, district) Disabled Persons' Federation with practical investigation experience and received unified training. Visitors conduct household surveys and conduct direct interviews with individuals with disabilities. If individuals with disabilities are unable to communicate effectively with interviewers, their family members can provide alternative answers based on the thoughts of respondents. This survey takes all households with disabilities who hold the second-generation Disabled Persons Certificate of the People's Republic of China registered in the National Basic Database of Disabled Persons as the population, and adopts a proportional stratified, multi-stage random sampling method to obtain survey samples. The project team combined the life conditions and needs of people with disabilities, the related research of the disabled, the key tasks of the Disabled Persons' Federation and work needs, and designed a questionnaire containing 22 specific questions in seven aspects of people with disabilities’ family economic status, employment, social security, education, rehabilitation service utilization, accessibility, and Internet use. This survey questionnaire can comprehensively and multi-dimensionally evaluate the basic living conditions and subjective perceptions of people with disabilities. The sample covers 28 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in Chinese Mainland.
