Microorganisms are known to be found everywhere. They have been detected in several areas of the terrestrial environment including various surfaces. Air, water, soil and fluid from animals are carrier/vehicles of microorganisms.Microbial contamination in laboratories and hospitals is becoming serious challenge globally and characterization of such contaminants is important as it provides possible solutions for treating some laboratory acquired infections (LAI). It is important to determine the nature of micro-organisms causing laboratory acquired infections in order to devise techniques to prevent subsequent outbreaks
