Reports and Images from an Archaeological Watching Brief on Geological Test Pitting prior to flood alleviation works at Tadcaster, 2022

This collection comprises the report, site photographs, and site records from an archaeological watching brief on geological test pitting as part of the design phase for flood alleviation works for Tadcaster. The watching brief was undertaken by West Yorkshire Archaeological Services in May-June 2022. A total of 37 test pits were monitored. A timber, radiocarbon dated to the 9th century BC, was recovered from one pit. Other finds included post-medieval demolition material, pottery and glass.>
