VPRS 14947 Summary of Progress of Enactment of Bills

This series contains data summarising the passage of Bills through Parliament each year, under headings such as:- Name of Bill- By whom initiated- Date- Date of first reading- Date of second reading- Date in Committee- Committee Report- Recommittal.The data covered the progress of the Bill up to the granting of Royal Assent and proclamation in the Government Gazette. After each yearly summary page, there are several pages of more detailed descriptions of the progress of each Bill. Many of the summary data pages appear to have been removed from unit 2 of the P1 consignment.In 2003, the original Acts, Bills and other related series created by the Legislative Assembly were transferred to PROV. During the process of this transfer, other records (including this series) were appraised and those deemed permanent were transferred to PROV. Some of the records were estrays, some had clearly at one time been part of the Legislative Assembly's correspondence system and others had been collected for research.
