The project relied on samples collected in January 2019 across 12 sites from 5 lakes on the South Island of New Zealand. We created 15 pools from the 12 localities. For each pool we collected 200 metacercarial cysts of A.winterbourni trematode from 12 snails (its intermediate host). The DNA was extracted after hatching the trematode parasites into their adult form.
