Rice mutant G123 displays insensitivity to photoperiod and an early flowering phenotype under long day and short day conditions. To detect the mutation responsible for the altered phenotype we sequenced the genome of wild-type and mutant lines and a mix of F2 plants derived of the cross between wild-type and mutant lines. The differences at transcriptomic level between both line were analysed through RNA seq. RNAseq libraries were constructed with an insert size of 250 ~ 300 bp, and sequenced by pair-end reads of 150 bp employing an Illumina HiSeq/MiSeq sequencer. For whole genome sequencing libraries had an insert size ~ 350 bp and were sequenced with 150 bp pair end reads on an Illumina®sequencing platform.
