Gene expression was quantified in S. cerevisae cells over a time course of three days of CaCl2 treatment to activate calcineurin. Wild type (WT) and cnb1 mutant strains were compared to allow the identification of calcineurin-dependent gene expression changes. We show that mitochondrial genes are downregulated, and ribosome biogenesis genes are upregulated, in both geneotypes over time. Overall design: Gene expression was measured in wild type (WT) cells and cell lacking calcineurin (cnb1). For each strain samples were collected before treatment and 12, 48 and 72 hours following the addition of 200mM CaCl2. Triplicate time course experiments were performed.
