Escherichia coli str. K-12 substr. MG1655 Genome sequencing

Transcriptome assays are increasingly being performed by RNA-seq. For organisms whose genomes have not been sequenced and annotated, transcriptomes must be assembled de novo from the RNA-seq data. The goal of this project is to design and assess novel algorithms, specific to bacterial gene structures and transcriptomes, for analysis of bacterial RNA-seq data and de novo transcriptome assembly. E. coli DNA-seq data was generated to help evaluate the de novo assembly algorithms.
