Lights, Camera, Emotion: REELMO’s 1060 Hours of Affective Reports to Explore Emotions in Naturalistic Contexts

The dataset included in the REELMO.tar archive comprises real-time emotional responses to 60 full-length movies. We collected over 3.8 million moment-by-moment emotional ratings (1-second resolution) across 20 predefined emotional categories (admiration, amusement, excitement, joy, amazement, contentment, relief, tenderness, compassion, confusion, surprise, agitation, anguish, disappointment, embarrassment, disgust, contempt, fear, anger, and sadness), amounting to a total behavioral acquisition time of 1,060 hours and 360,000 seconds of group-level data. Emotional reports are complemented by detailed annotations of visual, acoustic, and semantic features of the stimuli, as well as psychological evaluations of participants. In addition, we provide 3T fMRI data from 20 participants who viewed the movie Jojo Rabbit over two 1-hour sessions, yielding 3,087 brain volumes per participant. The neuroimaging data are organized in BIDS format.
