资源简介:
This item contain the raw oxygen
data series obtained from the experiments associated to the work titled:
"Rainfall as a Driver for Near-Surface Turbulence and Air-Water Gas
Exchange in Aquatic Systems".
Our experimental setup consisted of
a custom-build rain generator, which was mounted ~20 m above a rain-collecting
aquarium. Before each experimental series, the dissolved oxygen (O2)
concentration in the aquarium water was reduced to about 50% of its atmospheric
equilibrium concentration.
Each experimental series of
measurements consisted of a 15 min period without rain, followed by several 15
min runs with constant rain rates (rain periods). During the different runs, we
maintained the same configuration (size and number of open holes), but varied
the water level in the rainfall generator.
For estimating gas transfer
velocities, we monitored dissolved oxygen concentration in water with four
fiber-optic sensors (FireStingO2, PyroScience GmbH), distributed vertically at
3, 13, 23 and 33 cm depth from the water surface. The sensors measured at a
frequency of 1 Hz during the 15 min experimental runs. The water temperature
and atmospheric pressure were measured at the same frequency.
These datasets contain periods longer
than data of interest for the objectives (15 minutes of no rain periods and 15
minutes of rain periods).
There is a Guide Table in Excel describing what the shared files contain.
