The evaluation of genotyping-by-sequencing for population genetics in selected invertebrates and vertebrates without reference genome sequence

In this study we attempt to test the performance of genotyping-by-sequening (GBS) in selected animal taxa, both invertebrates (Gastropoda: Helicidae) and vertebrates (Aves: Picidae) without relying on reference genome sequence. We found that GBS is able to produce satisfying number of polymorphisms and can be successfully applied to the population genetics in these species.
