Large-scale RNAi screening uncovers new therapeutic targets in the human parasite Schistosoma mansoni

stk25 and tao genes came out of an RNAi screen in the parasitic flatworm Schistosoma mansoni, and these genes shared a similar knockdown phenotype. To test for a functional relationship, we compared transcriptomes of early knockdown worms for each gene, compared to mock controls. Overall design: Adult male parasites were treated with either control dsRNA or gene-targeting dsRNA (stk25 or tao) then subjected to RNAseq at earliest phenotype onset (d9 for stk25 and mock control, d6 for tao and mock control)
