Peatlands with special importance for guest birds (valuable areas 2018)

The database provides an overview of the areas of value for guest birds on carbon-rich soils (BHK50) and additional bog biotopes identified outside these soils in Lower Saxony, based on the results of the water and wading bird censuses from the period 2008-2018. All available data from 2008-2018 were evaluated. For the evaluation of an area, data from a period of 5 years (depending on the data situation and processing status) were used for the evaluation.The regular collection and evaluation of data on guest birds takes place exclusively on the areas shown. It should be noted that only the data available at the time of the evaluation can be evaluated and the classification depends strongly on the respective data situation of an area. The country-wide assessment is updated at longer intervals, so that more up-to-date data for sub-areas may not have been included yet.
